International News: US President Donald Trump is famous for reversing his words. If they ever say something, they reverse it the next day. His habit of taking U-turns has become a part of his political personality. Whether it is tariff or abroad policy, the Russia-Ukraine War or the Israel-Hamas conflict, Trump's words are seen day and night. His perspective about Pakistan has been continuously changing - sometimes he calls Pakistan a 'bad country,' and sometimes he says 'great nation.'

2018: Strict statement against Pakistan

When Trump became president for the first time, Pakistan was a 'bad' and 'treacherous' country for him. In 2018, he tweeted that in the last 15 years, the US gave Pakistan more than $33 billion in financial assistance, but in return, Pakistan only gave America lies and deception. He accused Pakistan of sheltering terrorists and not helping them enough in Afghanistan. In August this year, he stopped military assistance of $300 million to Pakistan, as well as cut the help of $500 million.

2025: suddenly changing opinion and Pakistan praise

But there was a huge change in Trump's thinking. During his second time to become president and after that, he started praising Pakistan fiercely. In a recent interview with Fox News, he said that the people of Pakistan are talented and there are great things. Trump credited himself for reducing tension between the two countries after 'Operation Sindoor,' although India flatly refused it and stated that the ceasefire is the result of a conversation between the DGMOs of the two countries.

On May 11, Trump wrote on social media that the leadership of India and Pakistan has shown prudence and courage to stop the conflict. He called both countries a 'great nation' and promised to increase trade. This change was sudden and surprising.

What is the reason behind softening?

Experts believe that Trump's soft attitude towards Pakistan is not only political but also commercial. According to reports, a large part of Trump's family is invested in the cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial (WLF), which is associated with Pakistan's Crypto Council. Along with Trump's son Eric and Donald Junior, his brother-in-law Jared Kushner is also part of it.

It is known that these people visited Bangladesh and Türkiye, including Pakistan, in January. Returning from there, he described Pakistan as a 'magnificent investment site' and expressed the possibility of deals in minerals, oil, gas, and real estate.

The same style of Trump's 'deliberation' is that he wants a good deal in every case, whether it is business, tariff, or foreign policy. Political or moral thoughts are less, and benefits matter more.

Pakistan may seem surprising in the political scenario

Trump's change in Pakistan may seem surprising in the political scenario, but his attitude is clear: economic and business interests. His approach is inspired by the thinking of 'Dylabaz,' where the attitude can be changed anytime for profit. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to understand his business agenda before accepting Trump's words to be true.
